The Nines (2007)

The Nines is a 2007 indie drama that splits into three interlocking stories, each circling questions of identity, creativity, and reality bending in on itself. Ryan Reynolds carries the whole thing, playing variations on the same man across the triptych and proving he could do far more than the roles Hollywood usually handed him. It's an odd little curiosity that never found a wide audience but built a loyal following on strength alone. Two scenes here catch Reynolds stripped down and vulnerable, including a nude scene that shows a side of the actor rarely seen on screen.
