Romeo + Juliet (1996)

Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet transplants Shakespeare's doomed romance into a hyper-stylized modern setting, all guns, neon, and feverish young love. A boyish Leonardo DiCaprio carries the tragedy as Romeo, all nervous energy and longing that spills into the film's more intimate stretches. The 2 scenes gathered here focus on that side of the picture, catching DiCaprio bared and vulnerable in the throes of star-crossed passion. It's a rare early glimpse of the actor stripped down before superstardom fully took hold.
