Faraway Downs (2023)

Faraway Downs is Baz Luhrmann's sweeping outback drama, a limited series reworked from his epic film Australia, following an English aristocrat and a rugged drover across the Northern Territory in the shadow of World War II. Hugh Jackman anchors the series as the drover, all sun-scorched charm and lean muscle out on the cattle trail. The 2 scenes gathered here find him shirtless and stripped down in the open air, exactly the kind of rugged exposure fans hope for from this role. Short on quantity but not on payoff for anyone tracking Jackman's most physical work.
